This is the stage that captured the hearts of many viewers around the world and made them watch the new spectacular offering that is The Voice. The Blind Auditions is decribed as the most interesting and unique part of the show and the major factor that sets the franchise apart from other conventional singing search on television such as The X Factor and Idol. The blinds is the first televised level of the competition where the auditioning hopefuls sing in front of the four prominent coaches who are sitting on the iconic red chairs. But there is a twist-- in the beginning, the coaches are not facing the auditionees. They will only judge the artist based on his style, voice quality, power, and uniqueness. If a coach feels that the hopeful deserves a spot on his team, he presses the red button that triggers the swiveling red chair to turn around. This time the coach will finally see the identity of the auditionee. This process eliminates some biases related to the person's physical characteristics, personality and appeal. If only one of the four coaches turns, the artist is automatically included on his team. Meanwhile, if two or more coaches turn around, the auditionee is given the power to pick or choose the coach he prefers to be his mentor for the next round. But the picking only occurs after an exciting and enjoyable bantering session courtesy of the coaches themselves. Worst thing happens when no red chair turns for an artist because this means "your The Voice journey ends here." The ABS-CBN compound particularly Studio 2 housed the blind auditions of The Voice of the Philippines and it became the home of the franchise for about four taping days last April.
