A face emanating from the genre of rap and hip hop and certainly one of the voices that ruled the worldwide music charts. Apl.de.ap whose real name is Allan Pineda, is officially one of the reasons that make The Voice of the Philippines, a world class show. He is a Filipino-American rapper and record producer credited to be one of the founding members of the Grammy Award-winning group Black Eyed Peas. Apl's career in the international music scene dates back to the old days of 1988 when he met William Adams (will.i.am). At this time, they began rapping and performing together around the big city of Los Angeles. They signed with Ruthless Records and formed "Atban Klann." In 1995, The group eventually reformed with four members (Jaime Gomez aka Taboo and Kim Hill were added) and devised a new name-- the Black Eyed Peas. In 2003 Fergie Ferguson replaced Hill as the fourth member. Apl has enjoyed so much success being a member of BEP. Their third album "Elephunk" was a major phenomenon producing hit singles "Where is the Love?", "Shut Up", "Hey Mama", and "Let Get It Started." The group's fourth album which bears the name "Monkey Business", rocked the worldwide music scale because it is certified 4x platinum and had two massive singles-- "My Humps" and "Don't Phunk with My Heart." When 2009 arrived, the Black Eyed Peas smashed the Billboard Hot 100 via blockbusters "Boom Boom Pow", "I Gotta Feeling", "Meet Me Halfway", "Imma Be", and "Rock Your Body." These five singles were included in the fifth album "The E.N.D." In November of 2010, the group released their sixth album entitled "The Beginning", containing international hits "The Time (Dirty Bit)", "Just Can't Get Enough", and "Don't Stop the Party." BEP received a number of recognitions from different award-giving bodies such as the Grammys, American Music Awards, BET, BRIT, and Billboard Music Awards. Currently, the group is on hiatus. Now set aside your worries because with Apl's swag and international music experience, it's truly more fun in The Voice of the Philippines.
