Battle Rounds

Say goodbye to the blind auditions and together let's welcome the next phase of the competition-- the heart-stopping and mind-wrecking Battle Rounds. At this point, fear should not overcome the contestants and they should totally be ready to bring their singing prowess to another level of excellence. After the blind auditions, the coaches assembles their team (normally composed of 14-15 members) and pairings will be created. The Battle Rounds showcases and brings out the mentoring techniques and abilities of each coach as they train, give criticism, impart pointers, and develop every individual from their leagues. During the coaching sessions, the coaches are not alone because they are aided by advisors who are also successful and well-established artists in their own musical turfs. After the preparations, each of the pairings appears in the battle ring and battle it out while performing the same song. The two artists (combating pair) should prove to their coach that they are worthy of a spot in the next round and must not be eliminated from the team. The decision then resides on the side of the coaches and when the singing face-off ends, it should come up with a verdict on who will stay and who will bid goodbye. In some versions like the The Voice US, other coaches are granted with the power of steal that can be used when they want an eliminated contestant to be part of their team. Earlier write-ups have mentioned that in the first season of the Philippine version, the power of steal is not yet available. The location for the battle rounds of The Voice of the Philippines is currently unknown and no inside information have been disclosed to the public as of the moment. But many speculations have surfaced which point to the sound stage of ABS-CBN at San Jose del Monte, Bulacan as the venue of this phase. The Battle Rounds will be taped this coming June.
